The Tiger's Mouth Blog: Practicing Stillness

Strengthening my intention to practice required creating space in my daily schedule, my mind-body-heart, and also a pathway in my living room.

Over the past eighteen months, there has been so much turmoil in my family. It is unrelenting, at times very scary, and I can feel afraid, unbalanced, full of tension and panicked. The Taoist Tai Chi®️ arts allow me to work towards regaining my balance and sense of peace. By keeping my intention very focused on just my feet and really feeling and finding balance, I gradually start to feel the moves and release tension. I think it is by keeping it simple and focusing on the feeling that I begin to find balance and peace again. The more I focus on a single, simple intention the quieter I become on the inside. And then I feel peace.

As I follow the directions we’ve been given to develop a personal practice, each day this brings a deeper understanding of how the Taoist Tai Chi®️ arts can transform and benefit all. Personal practise is teaching me to find balance, to be  patient, to persevere, embrace change, notice what I am feeling, trust and keep practising, no matter what.
