The Tiger's Mouth Blog: Discovering Joy and Connection

Before classes were suspended in early March, it had been difficult for me to establish a daily practice. However, I am finding now that it is not a struggle to practice daily; instead I feel such joy and peace in the movements. I am noticing my spine, my tailbone, I feel my arms responding to my feet and spine. I have found love for my own individual, daily Taoist Tai Chi® practice! Master Moy gave us these arts fifty years ago and I have been connected to Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism for almost twenty of those years. I am so thankful for all the opportunities that have helped me grow along the path. I am very grateful to have discovered joy in the Taoist Tai Chi® arts that are grounding, energizing, and strengthening to my spirit and in my life.

I am not a morning person, but I have been getting up for the Chanting for the World on Saturday mornings. I surprised myself last Saturday morning when I found that it wasn’t so hard to get up that early and I was really looking forward to it. It’s like connecting with family and keeps me from going to a dark place that I could easily find myself in. I also look forward to the weekly Zoom meetings with other instructors because it’s like attending a retreat. I come away feeling the connection that helps  me to continue with my personal practice. Thank you everyone for the opportunity to keep this feeling.
