2016 Chinese New Year Banquet in Calgary

On February 5, 2016 the Calgary branch hosted a sold-out crowd of 120 people to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Monkey. Guests were treated to snacks and beverages as they arrived. A lion dance performed by members of the Kugekai Lion Dance Team welcomed in the new year. A delicious ten-course Chinese banquet was prepared and served by volunteers. Everyone enjoyed the tale of the Monkey King performed by elaborately costumed actors and puppets. An interlude of Chinese music performed by members of the Calgary Chinese Music Development Association was an added delight.

Fellowship with others, a silent auction, demonstrations of Taoist Arts, and numerous door prizes rounded out the evening.
